Arsenal International Soccer Festival

Semi-final Bish Bosh (Florida) 3 - 1 AFC Brooklands

AFC Brooklands took part in the Arsenal International Soccer Festival for the second time and managed to produce a massive improvement.

After playing Wadi Degla one of Arsenal’s Egyptian Academys, Brooklands played Florida based Bish Bosh in the semi final of the plate.

The game was very even and played with a good spirit between two sides playing attractive football. Bish Bosh took the lead when a Brooklands goal kick landed at the feet of the striker who cleared the keeper to take the lead. Brooklands managed to recover and neat work from Peter Harding put Freddie Wilkinson free only to be thwarted by the Bish Bosh keeper, Brooklands had a string of free kick and corners but could not hit the net. Bish Bosh took advantage and created a five-man move that put them two ahead.

Brooklands changed formation for the second half playing three in defence to chase the game, but after spending ten minutes camped in the attacking half Bish Bosh broke away to get a third. Brooklands continued to push forward and were rewarded when Harding fired passed the keeper.  Brooklands took risk after risk, Alex Edwards making three last ditch tackles to stop Bish Bosh strikers, but could not get another goal.
