Speed
- Drill One
On the coach’s whistle, the first players in each group sprint towards the ball in front of them. They then shuffle left (without touching the ball) across the 5yd square, run backwards to the next corner, shuffle right to the home corner and sprint forward to the ball.

- Drill Three
The single player dribbles the ball towards the opposite player. When the dribbler is within 3 to 4yds of the opposite player, he passes to him. The receiving player must then dribble with speed to the opposite line while the passing player must run backward and try to get there first.
- Drill Four

Group Play
- Drill One
One player from each group sets up in the ‘target zone’. Remaining players play in the central area. Normal football rules apply. To score the outfield players must pass into the ‘target man’ who must control the ball. The ‘target man’ then changes places with the player who made the last pass.
- Drill Two
One player from each group sets up in the ‘target zone’. Introduce a neutral player who works along the side-line. This player plays for botvh side and can be used for ‘wall passes’ but cannot pass into the ‘target man’. Remaining players play in the central area.
- Drill Three
The players in the middle will play standard football rules while trying to score points. A point is scored each time a team passes the ball into their team’s corner player, who then must play a first time ball to a third player on the same team. The original passer then becomes the corner player.
- Drill Four
Players work the ball amongst themselves to create an ‘opening’ to pass across the opponent’s zone to their teammates. A point is scored for each successful pass between zones. When passes are intercepted, possession changes and the team with the ball work to score.
- Drill Five
Team in possession passes the ball amongst themselves in their half of the pitch. Team without possession sends two players into the opposing team’s area and tries to win the ball. On winning the ball it is passed back into the other half and the team losing possession sends two players in to win back possession.
